The Crowned Heads Luminosa is the newest Crowned Heads’ release. It has a mellower and more refined flavor profile than previous Crowned Heads’ releases that are noted for being fuller bodied. The Luminosa is mild to medium in strength with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, and an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler blend. It is a great morning cigar at a very good price given the quality of the smoke. “Luminosa fills a void that was lacking in the Crowned Heads portfolio of blends,” said Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder, to halfwheel. “An easily approachable smoke—something mild (if I’m allowed to say that word post August 8) to medium in body, that can be enjoyed both with a morning coffee as well as with an after dinner dessert.”The Crowned Heads Luminosa is made by Ernesto Perez-Carrilo Jr.’s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A., the same factory behind several of Crowned Heads’ other releases including Four Kicks, Headley Grange and the new Le Carême.The Luminosa has had small pre-releases of the Toro and Robusto sizes which have sold-out quickly and have had great reviews that note its smoothness. The first full regular production release of all four sizes of the Luminosa will be at the March, 2017 TAA Convention where TAA Members will have the first opportunity to order the Luminosa.
